D1 Training Brings Premier Athletic-Based Fitness Concept to Beaverton
Former NFL Wide Receiver Opens State-of-the-Art Fitness Facility for Youth and Adult Athletes
D1 Training, a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, has recently opened a new location in Beaverton at 11445 SW Scholls Ferry Rd. The group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.
In celebration of the new location’s launch, Beaverton neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its grand opening event on June 19th. Prior to that date, the coaches at D1 Beaverton are inviting people from all around the Portland metropolitan area to check out the facility during some Open House events.
A former professional athlete himself, new owner Micah Hatfield will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees and owners some of which include professional athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Tim Tebow and Michael Oher. Before a ligament tear in his ankle cut his NFL career short, Hatfield was a wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers after playing at Oregon State University. When it was time to leave his athletic career behind, he worked as Product Test Analyst at Nike for a few years and coached football for his alma mater Lake Oswego High School. When covid hit, he started his own personal training business which he ran for three years. In helping local athletes achieve their fitness goals, Hatfield became eager to pursue his own professional goals. Scaling his business wasn’t a feasible option, until he came across D1 Training and knew that franchising with D1 was the perfect fit for him.
“Having worked with young kids and adults throughout this area, I know that Beaverton parents are looking for quality, elite training that values their kid’s sports training, but also their personal development,” Hatfield said. “I have been dead set on a career as a professional athlete since I was a kid, and I was able to make that dream come true with a lot of hard work and a huge support system behind me. Opening D1 in Beaverton means building a community of trainers and athletes who take people’s aspirations seriously by encouraging them to do their best on and off the field. I am humbled at the prospect of being a part of my neighbors’ athletic journeys. I can’t wait to get started.”
D1 Beaverton offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or their fitness goals, regardless of age or athletic background.
“Micah is the ideal candidate to bring the D1 Training experience to Beaverton,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the D1 family and are confident in his ability to show the Beaverton area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their appropriate edge. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Micah will do just that in Beaverton and its surrounding communities.”
Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 60 performance centers open with over 120 additional locations in development. The brand is currently seeking qualified and active community members to expand its footprint and help more people meet their fitness goals.
