THIBODAUX, La. — For the 16th year in a row, D1 Training attended the Manning Passing Academy and ran all the athletes through a 45-minute warmup to kick off the 4-day quarterback camp at Nicholls State.
A new wrinkle this year, however, came after the warmups were complete.
As the 150-plus D1 coaches and other personnel gathered in the end zone for a group picture, former NFL coach Jon Gruden came over and got the D1 team "feeling really NICEY."
Before the picture was snapped, a D1 team member tossed Gruden a new black D1 hat to wear in the picture. Gruden immediately put it on and apparently didn't take it off for the next 3 days.
Check out some of the pictures Coach Gruden posted on his Twitter (291K followers) and Instagram (466K followers) during his time at MPA:
• Texas quarterback Arch Manning
• Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik
• Washington QB Demond Williams Jr.
• South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers
Other quarterbacks appearing in pics with Gruden in the D1 hat included:
• Iowa State QB Rocco Becht
• Georgia Tech QB Haynes King
• Arkansas QB Jalen Raynor
• LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier
• Louisville QB Miller Moss
• SMU QB Kevin Jennings
• Arizona QB Noah Fifita
• Mississippi State QB Blake Shapen
• Arkansas QB Taylen Green
After the group picture, Gruden spent time with D1 founder/CEO Will Bartholomew, Will's son Mack and several D1 coaches.

HUGE thank you to Coach Gruden for his time and for repping the D1 brand. See ya next year at Manning Passing Academy!
