Last month, D1 Alliance owner Colbey Ryan decided to raise money to help victims and first responders from the floods in central Texas.
In total, Ryan said D1 Alliance raised roughly $700 in cash and had an estimated $2,500 donated in supplies.
With a combined effort with other businesses in the area, Ryan estimated that roughly $10-15K in supplies was donated.
On Saturday, Ryan posted on LinkedIn, thanking people for their donations.
You can read what he said below:
They didn’t just donate… they showed up with love.
I’m humbled beyond words.
The tragedy in South Texas struck a nerve I didn’t expect. I grew up on the Guadalupe River—swimming in its icy water on scorching 105° days, camping on its banks, making memories that shaped my childhood.
Now that same place is buried under mud, water, and heartbreak.
As a dad, it’s hard to even process the thought of families waking up to the news that loved ones are missing—or gone. I can’t imagine the pain. I lift them up in my prayers.
But I couldn’t just sit back and pray. We had to do more.
So my team at D1 Training Alliancesprang into action. We opened our doors as a donation site. We spread the word. We teamed up with other local businesses.
D1’s marketing chief, Matthew Toyresponded swiftly by having his team post announcements on social media and the D1 mobile app that members and clients of more than 150+ franchise locations use daily.
And the response was overwhelming.
Donations poured in. Cash came in fast. And we were able to go out and buy the most critical (but often overlooked) items—sunscreen and bug spray—because extreme heat, stagnant water, and thick brush are a dangerous mix for volunteers and displaced families.
Yesterday, with the help of our local partners, we delivered a trailer full of supplies to Kerrville. It felt good. But it still doesn’t feel like enough.
There are still people missing. Cars are buried. Homes destroyed. And hope, for some, is fading.
But here’s what gives me strength:
Love moves people. Love fuels action. Love turns prayer into purpose.
To everyone who contributed—whether it was cash, supplies, a kind word, or a simple prayer—you made a difference. And I’m so grateful.
